BoltLube has TWO PARTS:
1. Premium full synthetic, but thick oil for IMMEDIATE LUBRICITY
2. Long term METAL-PENETRATING LUBRICANT

In fact, the metal-penetrating-lubricant soaks into the metal parts with the heating and cooling cycles. It does not change the base oil, and is not an oil "additive". BoltLube's active metal-penetrating-lubricant does NOT contain PTFE (Teflon), Moly (MoS2), PAOs (PolyAlphaOlefins), graphite, coal tar constituents, inorganic or metallic salts like zinc, phosphorous (as Zinc Dialkyl Dithio Phosphate, ZDDP), or chlorine (as chlorinated paraffin extreme pressure "EP" additives). So you will see nothing sedimenting out of the high-viscosity base oil! Since no covalent bonding occurs with the base metal, there is no permanent chemical change to the treated metal. The metal-penetrating-lube is retained in the pores of the metal, and seeps out to prevent carbon or coke deposits (a real problem for ARs!).
Don't run any firearm without lube, but we shot with an absolutely dry bolt, after using BoltLube for a few weeks. Bottom line, you get metal-penetrating lubrication, great protection in cold and hot with superior suspension of dirt and carbon, just what we need for AS15s, M16s, M4s, AR10s, LR308s, and all manual bolt, piston and DGI rifles.
Our base oil:
| Density, g/ml @ 15.6°C ASTM D445 | = | 172.3 |
| Flash Point ASTM D92 | = | 417°F |
| Effective protection | = | above 300°F |
| Multi-Grade | = | SAE 20W-50 Full Synthetic Base |
| Industry standards | = | API SJ, CF, and JASO-MA |
| Viscosity Index (VI) | = | 142 (similar to a hydraulic suspension oil) |
Recent Review ... running my Bushmaster AR15 shorty at the estate today... it's running solely on BoltLube... as well as the S&W M&P AR-style .22 caliber... i like the way it flows, and will track... just by tilting the weapon ar parts, it seems to go right where you want it to and stay put... i run them wet too, and this morning it hasn't made it down the magwell like most lubricants... and i think today would be a bad day for lub***late... also, in the warm house... Ho**e's oil would have easily been relocated by this morning... u seem to have a simple cost effective solution to a larger problem... pretty cool, or "groovy" as a hippie would say... |
